About me

I am a conceptual artist whose practice is rooted in threads of personal stories that expose vulnerability and hidden truths

My approach to and use of materials is multifaceted and playful, working experimentally with whatever ‘feels’ right - from clay, to threads, found natural things or vintage photographs and inks - working in various media including sculpture, installation, print and film.

Currently my work is investigating metaphors for disease & decay with sculptures imagined as fragile living forms that echo the rhythms of the diseases.

Works unfold through research into scientific developments and connections with nature, alongside patient and repetitive material experimentation, to expose my darker thoughts and my strengths.

The structured process of making acts as a form of healing and renewal after a long period of navigating a terminal neurological illness, being a family caregiver, working through grief, as well as a personal cancer diagnosis. All life experiences which send shockwaves through your life plans and lead you elsewhere.

I work from my studio on the south coast of England with frequent walks to the woods or the beach to clear my head.

I am director of the Blue Monkey Artist Network which provides networking and professional development opportunities for artists across East Sussex.
