Vessel

A container for holding something.

The vessel, often thought of as a domestic object, associated with eating and sharing time and space together or holding or storing things. 

They are taken on journeys and used as performative elements or props, transforming a still object into a collaborator, inseparable from the artists actions during, for example, a ceremony of remembrance.  A container to hold emotions, ashes, life experience; blending with the landscape and acting as a metaphor for life, death, decay, imbalance and loss.

 Each vessel functions as a visual diary that chronicles internal emotions, physical recovery and the unknown future.
