Mothering Mother
A series of works made in response to my mother’s terminal neurological disease diagnosis and cognitive dysfunction and my subsequent role as carer. The predictability of repetition, making works all the same size, with materials found either in the studio or from my mother’s own art cupboard or sewing box, provided a sense of purpose and an outlet for emotional and psychological states, whilst coexisting as carer, mother, daughter, wife within my home.
